It is always important to stay at the top of your health game.  We all need to be working on staying healthy especially in 2021.  Getting sick in 2021 forces you into covid quarantine and mandatory testing.  Being healthy and not having injuries or emergencies is a staple in living a happier life.  This year though we have been focusing on health more than any other in my lifetime.  The COVID-19 pandemic has brought health to our minds every day through the news and talk on social media.  But one way it has truly affected us is through our dental habits.  This is because our country has almost unanimously implemented mandatory mask regulations and we are all smelling our breath constantly. This has led us all to really start looking into our dental hygiene and how we can lower bad breath or halitosis.  The routines we put in place are what generally have the biggest impact on our health and this year many of us are ramping up our routines.  This is the time to work on getting your health in the best shape of your life.  


You need to at least stay on a good health schedule.  Rather you are brushing twice or three times a day it is important.  My normal day consists of me usually brushing my teeth before I leave for work and also before I go to bed.  Now in reality I may skip one of those 3 times a week and end up just brushing in the morning or at night. I know that since my breath is something that is constantly in my face now that I had to make habits for my brushing better. 



Habits are not easy but you can get in them quickly. Do the same thing over and over for a month and you are good to go.  So morning, lunch, and night alarms were set and each time I went to brush my teeth.  Now for me, this was a little easier to do at lunch because I was working from home for 3 months.  This allowed me easy access to a toothbrush and paste and a regular sink.  That has helped me to step up my habits and consistently keep my teeth free of food particles that may be causing tooth decay and creating bad breath. 


Work on upgrading your skills.   This was done by adding in a different type of toothpaste as well.  For my night toothbrushing, I decided to add in a charcoal whitening paste.  This not only helped my breath but also helped the look of my teeth when I took my mask off. But this was not my only addition, I know that food particle is a big causer of plaque buildup which leads to bad breath.  This is why I added some flossing to my nightly brush as well.  I found these small floss sticks that kept my hands away from the flossing string. I never liked the string and these allowed me to get in and out of my teeth with no gross feelings and it keeps my bacteria-filled fingers out of my mouth. Flossing is a good thing and should be done. So find the ways to get it into your life. I hope you are able to rock your health with these tips.
